Floral Valentine Heart

I wanted a larger version of this heart I made last year.

Starting with this paper mache heart I picked up at the craft store.

I used my Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad to color the heart.

Using a sponge to color in the crevice.
 .

I made roses by first punching circles then cutting into spirals
using Cherry Cobbler and Real Red Card Stock.

Then using a piercing tool, I rolled from the outside of
the spiral to the center creating roses.

Tip: Wetting the point of the card stock helps to started the rolling.

For the carnation like flowers I punched scallop circles in
various sizes then stacked 3 together, piercing and adding a brad.

Using a spray bottle of water, I spritzed with water then
scrunched up the first layered scallop.

spritzed again and scrunched the second layer and did
the same with the third layer, then let dry.

Once I had a bunch of flowers made, I used a glue gun
to randomly glue them onto the heart.

Using the small ones to fill in the spaces.

Once the entire heart was covered I made the banner.

More hot glue to attach it and...

Voila!

The finished size is approximately 6" X 9".
